Christine introduced Kate Simmons, from Bellingham's Heritage Flight Museum, which was founded in 1996 by Apollo 8 astronaut Maj. General William Anders, The Museum is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation and flying of historic military aircraft. The Museum settled at Bellingham International in 2001, and has been developing their displays and their community programs since then. Visitors are welcome to get an up-close look at the collection of memorabilia and artifacts, and a selection of flying World War II, Korean and Vietnam era aircraft.

Open Th, F and Saturdays. Monthly flyways every third Saturday of the month.

The museum has a state of the art flight simulator stations, so you can fly (on the computer) most of the aircraft from the museum around Whatcom County circa 1945!

The Living History project is trying to capture the biographies of local pilots.

Future Flyers Kids area and Youth Involvement.

They are currently located near the main passenger terminal in the old Fed-Ex office.  Long-term goals would be to have their own hanger big enough to house all their airplanes!

The museum brings cultural and educational activities to the community - a very unique visitor experience.  The staff attends many regional air shows with some of their vintage aircraft.
