Program
Mark Collins is the coach of Bellingham Blazers hockey team.  Age of players is 16-20 years old.  About 20-24 players make the team.  All the players are required to pay a fee, but the team tries to keep costs down.  The main corporate sponsors are CrossfitX and Fitness Evolution.  Kids from Bellingham and other Western states as well.  Mark is duel Canadian-US citizen.  Comes from hockey family.  His sister and wife both successful players.  He grew up in Manitoba, played hockey from the very start, loves the game.  He’s been in Bellingham since 2000 as golf pro.  His dad is currently his asst. coach.  He feels his responsibility is to teach the kids to be not only successful players, but reliable teammates and great all-around people.  Had a successful season last year (went to Nationals), hoping to repeat this winter.  Billet (host) families get a stipend of $300/mo to board and feed the kids during the season.  Off ice, the team trains a lot with CrossfitX and that helps their fitness a lot.  Fan support helps a lot during the games, feeding off the energy.

Lance wins raffle - for first time EVER!
