Program

Steve Brummel introduced Tony Domingues, head coach WWU men's basketball team.

Tony talked about the transition from going from assistant coach under Brad Jackson (17 years!) to take over as head coach this year when Jackson went to coach at UW.

Last year was tough, a lot of prima-donna players, but the team came together as group to eventually won the national championship under coach Jackson. The response from the community was amazing.  This summer was start of new season, Tony was soul seating deciding if he wanted a career change, when all of a sudden Jackson was offered and accepted the position at UW, and Tony was offered the head coaching position at WWU.  It felt to him like stars just aligned to create this opportunity.

This year, the first (pre-season) game was against UW and coach Jackson.  Second game was on East coast playing top ranked Duke and coach K.  Lost both games but the team really played well.

Tony encourages everyone to be a part of the WWU basketball family.  Very excited about this season.  It will be hard to match the success under coach Jackson, but Tony is very encouraged.  Tony talked about the players on this year's team.

Steve Swan wins the raffle.

Respectfully submitted,
Stowe Talbot
