Roger Long wants the "Charitable Giving" committee to meet next week to discuss 17 different requests for 2008.

Matt Rose announced membership meeting today at 1:30 pm.

We have two new members, one of which was inducted today: Vanessa Blackburn is editor and publisher of the Bellingham Business Journal. She was sponsored by Bob Jones. Vanessa Induction by Denise Bosman. Welcome Vanessa!

Program
Tonja Myers introduced Wendy Reaville from Campfire USA. Wendy previously worked at GP, and also did substitute teaching in Bellingham School District. After GP closed, she got her masters degree at WWU and then took on the Executive Director position at Camp Kirby on Samish Island.

Wendy showed a video about the Camp Kirby. This camp is part of the Campfire organization, Samish Council. Camp Kirby was founded in 1923 and is comprised of 47 beachfront acres on Samish Island. "New Directions - Old Traditions". Environmental Education is one of the many programs at camp. The camp is used also by Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts and others. But, the camp is expensive to maintain. Wendy said they are always looking for financial and volunteer support.
