Announcements- Barry (via Bill): Our club's storage unit is available for equipment /material for Grape & Gourmet: If you need to use it, bring it next week and Barry will put it in storage.

Our club has sponsored the Student-of-the-Month program for the last 5 years; each month we honor a student from Squalicum HS for their service to the community. The program was started with help from Becky Elmendorf and now is run by Debbie Granger. Our club also helps sponsor the Squalicum HS Interact club, of which there are currently 50 student members! Debbie told us that the students want to make a positive impact on the high school community. Every spring, a "scholarship program" is held, where the graduating students meet with underclassmen to explain what interact is all about and how the student of the month program works. This month's Student-of-the-Month is Jamie Spidel. Jamie interns at the kindergarten at Roosevelt Elementary School, volunteers at St. Francis Nursing Home, and has 1350 hours in the "Explorer Police Program". Jamie told us she is excited to participate in the "Shop with a Cop" program this weekend where she will take a disadvantaged youth shopping. She hopes to be a police officer someday, and thanks our club for the honor.
Jim McCallum conducted the New Member Ceremony for Scott Swanson, an attorney with ???. His dad and brother are also attorneys, and his twin is a local dentist. Scott was sponsored by Lance Calloway. Welcome Scott!
