Program
Barry introduced Julie Farrow from Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County.  DVSAS is a county-wide, volunteer based organization that serves individuals of all ages affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.  The agency provides client-centered, accessible services which promote empowerment, choice and safety.  Specifically, the agency offers services such as crisis intervention, shelter, medical and legal advocacy, support services and prevention, education and offenders treatment.   Julie showed a video about all the services that DVSAS provides.

This year our club gave $2500 to DVSAS.  Domestic violence and sexual assault affects almost everyone: Last year the youngest victim was 6 months old and the oldest was 83. One out of three girls and one out of six of kids are sexually assaulted before the age 18.  90% of rapes are never reported.
