Announcements

Eddie said June 8th is our Rotary golf day at noon at Padden. You can buy golf/lunch, or lunch only. There will be NO MEETING at Northwood Hall that day!

Our annual summer picnic will be June 29 at Boxx Berry Farm! More news soon.

Student of the Month: Harold Scott introduced Paul Horne and Robin Russell, parents of this month's Student of the Month, Maddie Horne. Councelor Steve Wiley introduced Maddie. Maddie has logged 132 volunteer hours over the past few years. She worked at basketball camps during the summers, working with small kids. This year she also worked at Roosevelt Elementary with kids on art projects, which was part of her senior "culminating project". The highpoint of her high school experience was four years playing varsity basketball and this year making it to the State Tournament! She also participated in soccer and track. Future plans? Next year she is enrolled at Oregon State, probably to study health and human sciences. Maddie thanked our club for the award.

Three of the four RYLA attendees from this past April (Jenn Axelson, Sarah Haggen and Danielle Sherman) came and spoke about their experiences at RYLA. They all said RYLA was an amazing, life-changing experience where they learned many teamwork and leadership skills. They thanked our club for sponsoring them.
