Announcements -- Next week we meet at Brooks Manufacturing, and on 21 June, Denise Bosman will be the OIC for the meeting.  Ron Hardesty will be at the RI Convention as will be Bill Unrein.  Ron will be on his Harley in the Chicago parade, and after that, he will be heading west, stopping at about five Rotary Clubs from Michigan to Washington, telling those Clubs the story about our CLEAN WATER endeavour.  Also, a big THANKS to Ron for his leadership during this past Rotary year.

The first meeting of June 2005 opened at 1235 hours with President Ron calling on Randy Watts for the Flag Salute and the Invocation. This followed by the introduction of one Visiting Rotarian, Pedro Perez of Burlington Rotary Club, by Sgt. of Arms, Dale Brandland. There were five guests of members, all of whom, were introduced.

Announcements included: A request for at least five members to join Joel Hile, Membership Chair, as that Committee is formed for 2005-2006.

Bob Moles reminded all to attend the Clean Water fund raiser at the Mt. Baker Theatre this Sunday, 12 June -- great prizes and opportunities will be waiting those in attendance.

...and a number of others that I have overlooked!!

SGT OF ARMS Dale Brandland, with his usual aplomb and humor, performed for more than 20 minutes, hitting most everyone at the meeting for a buck or two for various infractions that he had managed to solicit from the membership (Senators do have a way with words) -- and some of them included:
All Republicans were hit with a political donation because the three Democrats in the club were nailed last week - in politics, we must be fair;
Bob Tull for attending a County Council Meeting and having nothing better to do than that;
Dale Zender because of his son is doing so well in sports;
Eddie Hansen for not using his yacht more often since 1 July of 2004;

Ed Zech for not exiting on 536 (I-5) to locate his wife's (Brandland's wife, that is) new Light Store in Burlington;
A problem that Dale (the man) had in purchasing an antique item from PP Bosman for ONE DOLLAR -- and, we think, he sold it to Anna Williams for a 5 spot!
Randy Wats for not being a judge;
Dan Wilkerson because he never gets fined--too nice of a guy, we guess!
John Barron (the member with two R's) with his recent sale of a hot tub
Steve Brummel with the problem he had on the 15th hole (another golf story);
Gordon Plume with his new look;
Donna Equist and her trip to the Big Apple;
Gary Barnett because he does not have a Men's Day at the car wash
All Real Estate Agents were hit because of their increased sales in Whatcom County; Bill Gorman for calling a Saturday meeting, which meant that Robin Schmidt had to give up her only day off for the month;
....and there were a few more that were not noted or were so ribald that they dare not be repeated in a Rotary Bulletin
A big dollar for anyone whose last name starts with the letter "U"

MEETING NOTES -- the scheduled meeting commenced about 1317 hours, and that included a fairly good representation of Amateur Night at the IMPROV in Santa Monica, Calif. It all started with the induction of our latest member, KEN LARSEN, who had been introduced as a guest earlier in the meeting; then, CHUCK OLSON (A Past President) introduced KEN, and related five items about him that he had garnered during their lunch - then, CURTIS SMITH, installed KEN, and that took about 30 seconds!! After the ceremonies regarding KEN, DONNA EQUIST (Donna was brought into the Club on the 10th of May) gave a brief introduction of herself as a New Member Talk. It was now 1325 hours, and we adjourned five minutes early
