And the Program for the Day
...Former BBRC Member and Past President, Don Pierce brought some interesting facts regarding his current employment, and that is the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs. Don has been with them for about 18 months, and is able to travel around the State, offering leadership and information to the many who are involved as Sheriffs and Police Chiefs. Don also works closely with the Legislature as well as many other facets of government. He was able to give some of the ventures that he had since he left our area in mid 2000, to include work in Boise, Director of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Idaho and then with his current employment. One of the items that was most interesting is to be involved with the many areas of concern for the State of Washington when the Wimnter Olympics occur in 2010. Certainly great to see one of our former members give all of us some interesting information as well as being able to talk about old times -- and Don was not one to forget anyone in the Club who he knew when he was a member. Come on back, Don, and see us again soon.

Rotary Info: ...Our new President of Rotary International is WILLIAM "BILL" BOYD from New Zealand, and his Theme for the 2006-2007 year is LEAD THE WAY. More information on the coming Rotary Year may be found in THE ROTARIAN magazine dated July of 2006.
...And did you know that the next RI Convention will be held in New Orleans (ORPHALEE will enjoy Louisiana!), followed by Los Angeles (and TIM will be looking forward to that Convention).
...Don't forget to contribute that extra dollar to our own Club Foundation, and DO become a PAUL HARRIS FELLOW And finally:
...A heartfelt thanks for the great year BILL UNREIN had during his reign of 2005-2006. There were many accomplishments by all of us, and as we know, it takes a real leader to LEAD THE WAY and know that SERVICE ABOVE SELF is an all important statement that Rotarians throughout the world easily follow. BILL, we say Thank You. ...At the end of the meeting today, President BARRY presented a plaque and a gavel to BILL as a memento of his year.

Raffle ...Some unknown won $25, and that should be reported to the IRS!

...Respectfully submitted, STAN DYER
