Program by Jodi Sipes, Whatcom Volunteer Center RSVP Director

Jodi shared that volunteers have a more positive outlook on life, feel better and typically live longer so there is no reason not to volunteer!! 200 hours a year is a good benchmark for volunteers.

Jodi also discussed the various programs that have been successful the last few years.  Programs such as Project Warmup, Human Races, Project Homeless Connect have been beneficial to local residents.  Additionally, the virtual furniture bank has been helpful for those with few belongings.

Other events such an annual award banquet for local non-profits and free CPR and first aid clinics have also been well received.

Jodi encouraged all to get involved with a non-profit of their choosing and volunteer more time and resouces to the community.

Respectfully submitted,
