Next week Brewers on the Bay (2-6pm July 27th); we still need a few more volunteers! Also, we might need a few volunteers 4pm Saturday at Lake Padden to wash the beer glasses if anyone is willing to help.

Please come to the Bellingham Food Bank Ribbon cutting ceremony at 4pm Thursday July 31st (at the Food Bank), everyone is encouraged to attend! Drinks, hamburgers, and hotdogs will be served!

Heidi Bugbee thanked our club for the $ and the volunteer help on a couple projects:
a) Lid for a big sandbox (18' x 12') with help from our club, all day event, kids are now enjoying it;
b) Storage shed remodel, it is already full.

Gary introduced Brad Burdick, director of the Mount Baker Theatre. By the way, Brad thanked our club for selecting his daughter in March as our Student of the Month!
Campaign for the Arts - fundraising for an "Arts District" downtown (new museum, streetscape improvements and MBT remodel phases I and II).
Public Facilities District;

Both helping fund the new museum.

Now Phase II remodel: completion in Nov 08 electrical heating fire suppression, restore fixtures and add lighting, etc. MBT was originally built as a movie house.
Streetscape improvements

Funding:
1) BWPDF $20 million bonding;
2) Campaign for the Arts $8.6 million. (4.2 endowment, 4 as capital, .4 campaign management)
Museum - construction underway, completion Spring '09, certified LEED silver or gold including a green roof.
