Program Cy introduced Derek and Michelle Long with Sustainable Connections. They showed a video on all the various Sustainable Connections programs: "Buy Local" campaign and coupon book, "Green Building" program; "Buy Fresh" campaign; "Eat local" week; "Green Power" campaign encouraging businesses and residents to conserve, and switch to green power; "Imagine Home and Landscape Tour"; Michelle told us that there are over 600 local businesses members that support these values. Annual budget $500,000. Focus on 21st century economic development - about green building renewable energy, local sustainable business, etc. Looking to the future. New wave of "environmentalism" is more focused on investment, rather than simply just conservation and regulation. The SC organization offers courses on business development and sponsors peer-to-peer mentoring. "Think local, buy local, be local" campaign. Food and farming programs. Thanks Michelle and Derek! Curtis Dye wins the raffle.

Respectfully submitted,
