Squalicum High School:George Bowman gave update on our sixth year of support for Squalicum HS "student of the month" program, which recognizes kids who are good students (but not necessarily the top students) and are involved with their community through volunteering. Debbie Granger helps to selects the student candidates. Debbie said she so grateful for our clubs' support for the school in three ways:
1) The Interact club;
2) The Six student scholarship awards;
3) The Volunteer of the month program.

Squalicum HS partners with Whatcom Volunteer Center to better partner kids with volunteer opportunities. The students have to arrange their own volunteering themselves. Then they log their hours.

Squalicum is divided into three "houses" or wings of the building - each "house" has its own councilor: Bay (Aramis Johnson) Sky (Steve Wiley) and Mountain (Terri White). Squalicum is the biggest HS in the city with a very diverse student body.

George presented plaques to Debbie Granger, Terri White, Steve Whiley and Aramis Johnson.
