Announcements:

Denise Bosman gave update to the club on long-range planning and our proposed new mission statement. It will be our "template / guide" for the next five years.  Here is the proposed text:

The Bellingham Bay Rotary Club will be the pre-eminent community service organization for business and community leaders in Bellingham, WA, USA.

  • We will maintain a diverse membership of around 120 highly motivated individuals;
  • We expect good attendance and active participation from ALL members;
  • Our major fundraising effort will consist of two major fundraisers each year;
  • We will focus our charitable giving on "youth-focused" organizations;
  • We will participate in at least two major "hands-on" service projects each year;
  • We will participate in one or two International Service projects;
  • Our Website will be actively used as the main tool for communication and organization of club activities;
  • Avenue of Service allocations will be determined by an annual budgeting process

New Member Application

Program
Megan Busart owns and operates the Camden Cameleon, a tatto and body piercing salon located on State Street across from the Herald.  Megan started her business in Fairhaven in 1996, then moved to State Street in 2002.  Megan gave an interested report on an industry that most Rotarians don't know much about!

Respectfully Submitted,
