New member talk:
Patti Leach born in Redwood City, family of three brothers, she was a tomboy who loved to dig in the back yard, attended college in Redwood City, interested in archeology, worked at Filoli Estate where she excavated and researched an American Indian archeological burial site. She tansferred to U Cal Davis for a degree in anthropology.  After grad school, she specialized and worked five years in the field of “cultural resource management” (rights of way issues, etc.).  Met and married husband John, moved to Bay Area.  Participated in a project to build a museum to honor Steinbeck in Salinas, CA (National Steinbeck Center).  Then was hired to be the director of the Hermitage Museum - Andrew Jackson’s former estate - in Nashville, TN.  Issues of slavery and slave burial sites.  The opportunity of directorship at the Whatcom Museum and the building of the Lightcatcher building offered her the opportunity to move back to West Coast.  She is so happy to be here and a member of our Rotary club too!

Respectfully submitted,
Stowe Talbot
