  • Dannon re. New Generations: Last week Dannon, Christine, Stephanie & Mike B conducted scholarship interviews at Squalicum HS;
  • June 11 will be our GOLF FELLOWSHIP event at Lake Padden! Lunch will be there, then golf for willing golfers.
  • Dennis told us that former member Lynn Templeton inducted to National B&G Club "Hall of Fame".
  • G&G organizational meeting tonight 5pm at Bellwether board room.

  • Jim Johnson is back from short trip to Thailand (8 Rotary meetings in 5 days!), Philippines and HongKong;
  • Phil X Hageman missed two meetings due to work;
  • Scot Swanson alumni game at WWU, then Maui, then inducted to WWU sports hall of fame;
  • Tonja missed meeting annual survey/inspection finally over, also need to procure a few nice items for G&G;
  • Bill Gorman new Email (bill@bellingham.com) at new job at the Chamber;
  • Lesa Boxx daughter getting married Saturday;
  • Debbie Kiene missed meeting 34 wedding anniversary, trip to Edinburough, amazing Rotary club experience there, very hospitable people;
  • Bob Becker missed meeting, snowbirding in La Quinta, CA (attended Rotary regularly there!), good to be back!

Jim Johnson introduced Christopher Lease, member of Bham PD as training officer. Started in Spokane, came to Bellingham in '91, he is very involved in the organization International Justice Mission.
Christopher talked about " Human Trafficking: Whatcom County and Beyond".
 The act / the means / the purpose A $30B industry, 10-30 million slaves in the world today, 20K people in the US mostly women and kids.
IMJ casework around the world: Slavery, sex trafficking, police brutality, illegal property seizure, illegal dent ion, and citizenship rights.
Investigation: develops informants and networks, recruits teams, conducts interviews etc.
Christopher talked about battling prostitution in Bellingham, which is mostly conducted through the internet.
