Fellowship event tonight:  Season Opener for the Bellingham Bells at Civic Field, gates open at 6, game starts at 7 against Corvalis.
 
Meeting re. the DVSAS project tomorrow, Wednesday June 8th at 8am at Barkley office to discuss 
 
Monthly BBRC Board Meeting will be THIS THURSDAY at 4:30pm at Barkley / Talbot office (2200 Rimland, Suite 250).
 
Changing of the Guard Ceremony and Party will take place Wednesday eve, June 29th, at the VFW Hall on State Street.  There will be a band with dancing.  About $30/ticket.  Stay tuned for more details!
 
Giovanni Melley’s farewell party is Wednesday June 15 at VFW, 3-9pm! Bring the whole family.
 
RYLA participant Landon spoke about his recent RYLA weekend.  He said the speakers were great, he made good friends with the other participants, and the experience helped build his leadership and confidence.  Landon will be attending WSU next year.
 
Business Bucket ($ goes to our scholarship fund) by Bill Gorman, who reported:  There will be an open house TOMORROW, June 8, to go over proposed changes to the Slater Road area near Interstate 5 to help alleviate congestion (5 proposed new roundabouts).  The event will be held from 1-5 p.m. with a public presentation starting at 2. It’s being hosted by the Lummi Nation at the Te’Ti’Sen Gateway Center at 4920 Rural Ave.  The presentation will have an overview of the project and show the pros and cons of three alternatives. The Washington state legislature has placed $21 million in the transportation budget to fund the improvements, which are expected to begin in 2019.
